24 And see that ye have faith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works.
Good works come naturally to good people. If we can get our hearts in the right place, so that we have faith in Jesus Christ, hope that He will fulfill His promises, and charity for our brothers and sisters, good works will follow naturally.
I think Alma’s message here is, don’t work so hard at fixing the symptoms. You may chop off a branch here and pull a weed there, and new ones will simply grow in their places. You need to get to the root of the problem, and for spiritual problems that is our heart.
Today, I will focus on getting my heart in the right place, knowing that if I truly have faith, hope, and charity, the good works will follow naturally.
