We Labor Diligently – 2 Nephi 25:23

23 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.

There is an important insight about diligence in this verse: a proper understanding of the Atonement motivates us to work hard. The Savior’s power is available to all who exercise faith in Him. We exercise faith by acting in the face of uncertainty, and with trust that He will be there to help us when needed. So the key that unlocks the door of grace is actually diligence–diligence as a manifestation of our faith and trust in God, diligence borne of our deep desire to serve Him and of love for His children.
Today, I will remember that my diligence in serving the Lord can invite the gift of grace into my life and can help me share the gospel with my children.
