Whither I Go It Mattereth Not – Mormon 8:4

4 Therefore I will write and hide up the records in the earth; and whither I go it mattereth not.

Moroni models an important characteristic of a follower of Christ: the ability to prioritize and to avoid distractions. Was he traumatized by the tragedy he had just experienced, including the death of his father? Was he concerned about his future and anxious to decide what to do next? Undoubtedly all of these thoughts were in his mind. But he makes a conscious decision in this verse to push those thoughts aside and to do the task God wants him to do right now, which is to finish the records and hide them in the earth.
Today, I will focus on the task at hand. As compelling as other thoughts and actions may be, I will not allow them to distract me from the activities I know my Heavenly Father wants me to do.
