15 And upon these I write the things of my soul, and many of the scriptures which are engraven upon the plates of brass. For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them, and writeth them for the learning and the profit of my children.
This week I’m studying what the Book of Mormon teaches us about being effective parents.
Nephi found great joy in studying the word of God, and he wanted his children to experience that same joy. I would like to approach family scripture study with the same enthusiasm which Nephi conveys in the passage above.
This week, when I read the scriptures with my children, I will remember how much the scriptures have blessed my life, and I will seek to help my children have similar experiences. I will remember the importance of the gospel teaching I provide in laying a foundation for their spiritual growth.
