Have Miracles Ceased? – Moroni 7:27-29

27 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased because Christ hath ascended into heaven, and hath sat down on the right hand of God, to claim of the Father his rights of mercy which he hath upon the children of men?
28 For he hath answered the ends of the law, and he claimeth all those who have faith in him; and they who have faith in him will cleave unto every good thing; wherefore he advocateth the cause of the children of men; and he dwelleth eternally in the heavens.
29 And because he hath done this, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased? Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither have angels ceased to minister unto the children of men.
This week, I’m studying miracles. What are they? How can we recognize them? And how can we develop the faith necessary to experience them?
In the passage above, the prophet Mormon, speaking to a group of Nephites, asks the question, “Have miracles ceased?” He answers unequivocally: no! Miracles happen today, just has they have happened in the past. Those who have faith in Jesus Christ will experience miracles in their lives.
Today and throughout this week, I will remember Mormon’s reassuring statement. I will remember that miracles have not ceased to occur. They can happen in my life, and they probably are happening in my life, even if I don’t always recognize them.

  1. “Put on the full armor of God.” The adversary is real…His temptation can be overwhelming. Mormon Chapter 9: 28 follow the wisdom!

    1. This is a sore spot to me. I’ve actually received a miraculous healing in my body. From the spoken word of a woman solely using the name of Jesus. It is undeniable to me. However it was not in the church. And they’ve seemingly ceased in the church. When Jesus was here people didn’t have to search for hidden miracles. They were up front and center! What in the world are we pretending to.

      1. I’m glad to hear about your miraculous healing experience. That must have strengthened your faith in God!
Many of Jesus’s miracles were witnessed by large numbers of people, but not all. Some of the miracles we experience are personal, known only to us. That doesn’t make them any less miraculous. I think we need to exercise faith not only to invite miracles into our lives but also to recognize the miracles that God is already performing in our lives I think there are miracles all around us, both within the church and outside of it. I hope that helps.
