He Went Forth upon the Many Waters – 1 Nephi 13:12-13

16 Wo be unto them that shall pervert the ways of the Lord after this manner, for they shall perish except they repent. Behold, I speak with boldness, having authority from God; and I fear not what man can do; for perfect love casteth out all fear.
(Moroni 8:16)

As Mormon writes to his son to refute the false doctrine of infant baptism, he declares that he is motivated by love. He tells Moroni that this love has eliminated all fear from his heart. The Apostle John taught this same doctrine in the New Testament:

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love (1 John 4:18).

Today, I will strengthen the love I feel toward my family and friends. When I am faced with fear in any form, including self-consciousness, worry, or nervousness, I will remember that the love I feel for others can inspire courage in my heart. By learning to love them more perfectly, I can overcome my fears and act boldly in righteousness.
