I Pray for Them – 3 Nephi 19:28

28 Father, I thank thee that thou hast purified those whom I have chosen, because of their faith, and I pray for them, and also for them who shall believe on their words, that they may be purified in me, through faith on their words, even as they are purified in me.

Jesus prayed for others. Among the ways He served them was to plead with His Father to bless them. The Bible Dictionary teaches us that prayer is a form of work and that some blessings are only available after we have done the requisite work. Praying sincerely on behalf of another person is a form of service and may unlock blessings which they would not have otherwise received.
Today, I will make a list of people I would like to pray for. As I say my evening prayer, I will remember to pray on behalf of each of those individuals by name. I will remember that in praying for them, I am serving them.
