Prepare Your Minds for the Morrow – 3 Nephi 17:3

3 Therefore, go ye unto your homes, and ponder upon the things which I have said, and ask of the Father, in my name, that ye may understand, and prepare your minds for the morrow, and I come unto you again.

There are five different passages in the Book of Mormon which speak of preparing the minds of the people to receive the word of God. In this passage, the Savior promises the people that He will return the following day and invites them to do three things in their homes that evening:
  1. Ponder the words they have already received
  2. Ask Heavenly Father to help them understand
  3. Prepare their minds to receive the words He would deliver the following day
Today, I will prepare my mind to receive the word of the Lord tomorrow as I worship. I will pray for the Spirit of the Lord to enlighten my mind, and I will ponder the principles of the gospel which I have learned. Above all, I will attend church tomorrow with an open mind, ready to be taught and willing to put into practice the guidance I receive.
