This Long Time Ye Have Cried Unto Me – Ether 1:43

43 And there will I bless thee and thy seed, and raise up unto me of thy seed, and of the seed of thy brother, and they who shall go with thee, a great nation. And thereshall be none greater than the nation which I will raise up unto me of thy seed, upon all the face of the earth. And thus I will do unto thee because this long time ye have cried unto me.

If you feel that your prayers haven’t been answered yet, but you feel that what you are praying for is right, then don’t stop praying. The Bible Dictionary teaches that “Blessings require some work or effort on our part before we can obtain them. Prayer is a form of work.”
George Albert Smith taught that, if we know through the Spirit of the Lord that what we are praying for is in harmony with God’s will, then we can have a conviction that the blessing will eventually be granted, even if it isn’t given in the way we expect (Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: George Albert Smith, 97-98).
The aggregate effect of many prayers over time is a powerful thing.
Today, I will continue to pray for blessings that I have not yet received, but which I feel are in harmony with the will of my Father in Heaven.
