Sermons in the Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon contains several different kinds of writings. One type of content which appears frequently is sermons. Nephi records several sermons on his small plates, and Mormon quotes quite a few sermons in the subsequent books. One way to categorize them is by the audience. Some Book of Mormon sermons are delivered to a group of believers, some to an antagonistic audience, some to family members, and some to the readers.

Sermons to Believers

  1. Abinadi teaches the priests of King Noah (Mosiah 12-16)
  2. Alma and Amulek teach in Ammonihah (Alma 10-13)
  3. Alma and Amulek teach the Zoramites (Alma 32-34)
  4. Nephi teaches his neighbors (Helaman 7-9)
