2 Nephi 29 – A Bible!

2 Nephi 282 Nephi 30

Nephi prophesies that people will reject the Book of Mormon because of their commitment to the Bible. He teaches that God speaks to all nations, and the words he has spoken will be “gathered in one.”

Chapter Outline

  1. Some people will claim that the Bible contains all of God’s word (v. 1-3)
  2. The Gentiles received the Bible from the Jews (v. 4-6)
  3. God speaks to all nations (v. 7-11)
  4. The words of the Jews (the Bible) and the Nephites (the Book of Mormon) will be “gathered in one” (v. 12-14)

My Takeaways

  1. Gratitude, perspective, and receptiveness will enable us to recognize God’s words.
  2. Ingratitude is a result of ignorance.
  3. The Book of Mormon confirms and clarifies the truths taught in the Bible.
  4. Just as God gathers people, He also gathers His word, which He has delivered to multiple groups of people.

The Books

In Babylon, Daniel experienced a dream full of symbolism. He saw the Final Judgment. Ten thousand times ten thousand people stood before a throne. “The judgment was set,” he wrote, “and the books were opened” (Daniel 7:9-10). Many years later, the apostle John received a revelation on the Isle of Patmos. Here’s how he described…
