Let No Pride Nor Haughtiness Disturb Their Peace – Mosiah 27:3-4

3 And there was a strict command throughout all the churches that there should be no persecutions among them, that there should be an equality among all men;
4 That they should let no pride nor haughtiness disturb their peace; that every man should esteem his neighbor as himself, laboring with their own hands for their support.
(Mosiah 27:3-4)
I’ve been thinking today about how pride can “disturb” our peace. As the passage above suggests, pride or arrogance can lead to unkind treatment of others. But I wonder if our peace is disrupted even before we do or say anything, as soon as we allow pride to enter our hearts. A feeing of peace and contentment is a fragile thing, and when we engage in prideful thoughts or feelings, we jeopardize our own happiness, regardless of our words or actions.
Today, I will watch for prideful thoughts and reject them, so that they do not have power to disturb my peace.
