14 Yea, did he not bear record that the Son of God should come? And as he lifted up the brazen serpent in the wilderness, even so shall he be lifted up who should come.
15 And as many as should look upon that serpent should live, even so as many as should look upon the Son of God with faith, having a contrite spirit, might live, even unto that life which is eternal.
The brass serpent which Moses held up in the wilderness to heal the children of Israel was a symbol of our Savior, who has the power to deliver each of us. All they had to do to take advantage of the healing power of the serpent was to look up. Similarly, if we will simply turn our hearts to God, we will find that He has power to deliver us from every challenge we face. As Nephi taught, “the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance” (1 Nephi 1:20).
Today, I will rely upon my Savior. I will move forward in faith, fulfilling my duties and responsibilities. I will work hard and hold myself accountable for my decisions. But instead of expecting myself to solve every problem on my own, I will rely on the rescuing power of my Savior, knowing that in Him I will find the “power of deliverance.”
