I Have Labored Without Ceasing – Alma 36:24-26

24 Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
25 Yea, and now behold, O my son, the Lord doth give me exceedingly great joy in the fruit of my labors;
26 For because of the word which he has imparted unto me, behold, many have been born of God, and have tasted as I have tasted, and have seen eye to eye as I have seen; therefore they do know of these things of which I have spoken, as I do know; and the knowledge which I have is of God.
When we experience the love of God and feel the joy associated with it, we naturally want to share that joy with others. As Alma indicates in these verses, we ought to keep that desire alive and continually participate in missionary work.
After pondering these verses this morning, I prayed for an opportunity to share the gospel today. I immediately thought of a work colleague I don’t see very often, and I had the impression to invite him to have lunch with me. He was available, and we had a great conversation over lunch. He mentioned the movie “Meet the Mormons,” which he and his wife would like to see, and I had the chance to tell him about some of the stories in that movie.
I’m grateful for Alma’s example of diligence in missionary work, and I’m grateful that Heavenly Father answered my prayer and gave me a missionary experience today.
