There is an important principle in this simple verse. Teachers need to be aware of the needs and the capacity of their students. There comes a point of saturation, when the teacher may be eager to say more (as Jacob admits he is) but when the students need time to assimilate what they have already received before they are ready to learn more. See also 3 Nephi 17:2-3 where the Savior demonstrates the same principle.
Today, as I have opportunities to teach others or to convey information to them, I will be sensitive to their ability to assimilate my message and will be patient with them.
