27 And there were no more wars in the days of Shule; and he remembered the great things that the Lord had done for his fathers in bringing them across the great deep into the promised land; wherefore he did execute judgment in righteousness all his days.

We make wiser decisions when we are grateful, for at least two reasons:
1. Gratitude requires remembering. A correct understanding of past events helps us when we face obstacles similar to those we’ve faced before.
2. Gratitude requires humility. An accurate perception of what can and can’t do helps us to define our workload effectively and to seek help, including divine assistance, when needed.
