After delivering the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus clarifies one point from the sermon: When He said that old things have passed away, He wasn’t invalidating the words of ancient prophets which are yet to be fulfilled. He was simply announcing that the ceremonies associated with the Law of Moses which anticipated His coming have now been fulfilled by His arrival.
Jesus goes on to explain that the people in Bountiful are some of the “other sheep” He mentioned to His disciples in Jerusalem. (See John 10:16.) “Ye are my sheep,” He says, “and ye are numbered among those whom the Father hath given me.”

All the Prophets
On the afternoon of the first Easter, two believers walked from Jerusalem to Emmaus, about 7.5 miles. A stranger joined them who seemed to know nothing about the events of the weekend in Jerusalem. When they shared their disillusionment at the death of Jesus and their bewilderment about reports that He was alive, the stranger…

Not to Destroy, but to Build Up
The Savior told Joseph Smith that the Book of Mormon and the church are intended to build up what people already have, not to destroy it. As we interact with others, we must be careful not to disparage or minimize the good things they bring to the table, but to build upon them.
