Verily, I Say Unto You, Even as I Am – 3 Nephi 27:27

27 And know ye that ye shall be judges of this people, according to the judgment which I shall give unto you, which shall be just. Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am.

Jesus taught by word and also by example. As the only person who never committed a sin, He was uniquely qualified to say, “Do as I do. Live as I live. Be as I am.”
At the Last Supper, for example, after washing the feet of the apostles, the Savior clarified that He had just taught them an important principle by His actions:

Know ye what I have done to you?
Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you (John 13:12-15).

Today. I will strive to follow the example of the Savior, in action and also in essence. I will strive to do what the Savior would do, and I will strive to be even as He is.
