The Yoke Shall Be Destroyed – 2 Nephi 20:27

27 And it shall come to pass in that day that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Jesus Christ lifted others’ burdens. In the passage above, which was written by Isaiah and quoted by Nephi, we read about our burdens being taken away and the yoke of bondage being lifted from our necks and destroyed. This relief comes to us “because of the anointing,” which is particularly meaningful when we remember that the title “Christ” means “the Anointed One.”
Today, I will remember the many ways that Jesus has lifted my burdens and has delivered me from bondage. I will pay attention to the people around me and will look for ways to lift their burdens as well.
