Whosoever Will Come, Him Will I Receive – 3 Nephi 9:14

14 Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.
(3 Nephi 9:14)

We can have confidence in this promise from the Savior: everyone who chooses to come unto Him will have eternal life.
Unfortunately, it is easier to have a general faith in the saving power of Jesus Christ than to believe that He will save us personally. Elder Randall K. Bennett saw the evidence of this in a recent meeting with Latter-day Saints:

The question was asked, “Who desires to live with Heavenly Father again?” Every hand went up. The next question was “Who has confidence you’ll succeed?” Sadly and surprisingly, most hands went down (“Your Next Step,” General Conference, October 2015).

Elder Bennett went on to teach that, unless we have confidence in our ability to receive power through Christ’s Atonement, our failures and the evidence of our weaknesses can cause us to lose faith and hope and to stop moving forward.

Today, I will choose to believe in the power of the Atonement to save me. I will come unto Christ by praying for His help in overcoming my weaknesses, and then I will take action, believing that He will strengthen me and magnify my efforts.
