The Nephites repent, and many of the captured robbers repent as well. Mormon reiterates that he is abridging this account from numerous records. He says, “I am a disciple of Jesus Christ,” and expresses gratitude for God’s hand in the history of his people and for the promise that they will eventually be gathered home to Christ.
Chapter Outline
- The Nephites, and many of the captured robbers, repent (v. 1-7)
- The Nephites kept many records (v. 8-11)
- Mormon’s testimony and prophecy of gathering (v. 12-26)
My Takeaways
- A disciple is a devoted student who strives not only to follow the teacher’s words but also to emulate the teacher’s actions.
- We can serve more meaningfully if we maintain an intergenerational perspective.
- We should be intentionally grateful for things which are easy to take for granted.
