To My Readers: 2026 Plan

For several years, I’ve wanted to write a book about how the Book of Mormon helps us read the Old Testament better. This year, as we study the Old Testament in Come, Follow Me, seems like the perfect time for that project. I’ve decided to use this blog to write the book in serial fashion, Dickens-like.

Here’s what you can expect to see:

  • I will continue to write a blog post every day. I expect each post to be 300-500 words, about a 1-2 minute read.
  • Each blog post will relate to our Come, Follow Me assignment for the week and will show how the Book of Mormon enhances our understanding of that reading assignment.
  • Blog posts will be more connected than they have been in the past. Think of each post as a subsection within a chapter. Each post should feel more like a continuation of the prior day’s content instead of a fresh start.
  • I will continue to apply what I’m learning every day. Each post will have a brief epilogue, beginning with the words “Today I will.” However, that sentence will be separated from the rest of the blog post and will not be part of the book.
  • I will group posts into chapter pages on the website, in case you’re interested to see how the chapters are shaping up throughout the year.
  • I will probably make many edits to previously published posts, so don’t be surprised if you go back to a prior post and find that the content has evolved.

I will be most grateful for any feedback you are willing to share throughout the year, and I will take your comments into consideration as I create the finished product.

Thank you for joining me on this journey!

Paul

  4. Such great news – can’t wait! Your study notes have added to my own study and often brought deeper diving into other scripture passages, words or topics that have been spurred or sparked in studying the scriptures! Thank you!

I eagerly await 2026. Your, “Today I will”, has been implemented in my study allowing me to consider how I can apply the promptings and/or topics I’ve drawn from the scriptures that day. It’s personal but also shareable – that you for sharing the actionable pattern of likening the scriptures to ourselves.

  5. Just want to add my encouragement about this amazing idea! I so appreciate your posts and would love to see your writing in a book format someday!!
