When Lamoni accepted the gospel, "the light of the glory of God ... infused ... joy into his soul." Sister Amy A. Wright has urged us to "infuse the Light of Jesus Christ into every corner of our lives." We do this by opening our hearts to Him and by testifying of His power to save.
“Above the Brightness of the Sun”
The Restoration began with a burst of light chasing away the darkness. Not ordinary darkness, but "thick darkness." Not ordinary light, but a pillar of light "above the brightness of the sun." God's light can dispel even the thickest of darkness.
Out of Darkness
Our challenges and constraints do not prevent us from uplifting and inspiring other people. We may bring them closer to God even as we pass through difficult experiences.
“Then Shall the Righteous Shine Forth”
Jesus and Alma both described the righteous in the resurrection "[shining] forth in the kingdom of God." The Savior has also called on His disciples to shine forth today, so that the light we share can guide others to Him.
No Darkness
John testified, "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." Nephi declared, "The Lord God worketh not in darkness." When the light of Christ shines in our hearts, the darkness surrounding us no longer prevents us from moving forward.
The Light of Christ
How would you treat people if you really believed that Jesus enlightens everyone? Perhaps you would be more optimistic about the good that people can do. Perhaps you would be more appreciative of the good that people from diverse backgrounds are doing. Perhaps you would have more confidence in yourself as well.
