Every April and October, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds a worldwide general conference. The upcoming conference on April 4-5 will be special. It will mark 200 years since Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ in a grove of trees in Palmyra, New York.
Last October, President Russell M. Nelson invited us to prepare ourselves for a spiritual experience this April.
Here are some things that I am doing to prepare myself for general conference:
- Studying Joseph Smith’s account of the First Vision and pondering the significance of this event in my life.
- Reading Doctrine and Covenants sections 84 and 107 to better understand the priesthood.
- Pondering the role of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.
- Compiling a list of questions I have and challenges I face, to help me listen more intently for the guidance I need.
