To My Readers: 2022 Plan

I am excited about the Come, Follow Me curriculum for 2022, which will focus on the Old Testament.

The Book of Mormon is not a commentary on the Bible, but it does build on the foundation of the Bible.

Even as the Book of Mormon builds on the Bible, it also enriches our understanding of the Bible. Observing how Old Testament stories and teachings were utilized and explained by Book of Mormon prophets breathes new life into those passages. Consider, for example, how multiple Book of Mormon prophets successively extended our understanding of the miracle of the brass serpent.

In the new year, I will continue the pattern I’ve followed the last two years:

  • Each Sunday, I will write an overview post (which will be published Monday morning), summarizing that week’s reading and sharing some of my blog posts which reference that part of the Old Testament.
  • Monday through Saturday, I will write a new post each day, showing how that week’s reading is enhanced by the Book of Mormon.

The new curriculum starts a week from Monday, December 27. I hope you’ll join me for the journey!

Paul

  1. Dear Brother Anderson- a heartfelt thanks for sharing your lifetime of study of the Book of Mormon and the other canonized books of scripture! Your format of weaving a thread of Jesus through all scripture from the accounts of ancient America to latter-day revelation to the biblical texts is so enlightening. I read your posts diligently and study from your previous writings. It helps me with a deeper dive. I most appreciate the personal application with which you sum up each entry. It helps me with my own daily repentance. As Paul said “ I die daily”! Thank you for continuing into the study of the Old Testament.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I have read your posts daily for a few years and they help me with my personal study. So grateful for your help.
