The Fountain of All Righteousness – Ether 8:26

26 Wherefore, I, Moroni, am commanded to write these things that evil may be done away, and that the time may come that Satan may have no power upon the hearts of the children of men, but that they may be persuaded to do good continually, that they may come unto the fountain of all righteousness and be saved.
(Ether 8:26)

After warning us to recognize and overcome the secret combinations which will exist in our day, Moroni tells us what he hopes to accomplish by these warnings: he hopes that we can overcome the power of the devil and do good continually, so that we can “come unto the fountain of all righteousness and be saved.” For some reason, that pattern resonates with me. Instead of trying to be perfect right now, I can focus my attention on doing good, knowing that my good actions will lead me closer to the Savior who can make me perfect.

Today, I will think less about recognizing how I am falling short of perfection and will focus more on doing good things. I will strive to “do good continually,” remembering that every good action brings me closer to “the fountain of all righteousness.”
