Has the Day of Miracles Ceased? – Moroni 7:35-37

35 And now, my beloved brethren, if this be the case that these things are true which I have spoken unto you, and God will show unto you, with power and great glory at the last day, that they are true, and if they are true has the day of miracles ceased?
36 Or have angels ceased to appear unto the children of men? Or has he withheld the power of the Holy Ghost from them? Or will he, so long as time shall last, or the earth shall stand, or there shall be one man upon the face thereof to be saved?
37 Behold I say unto you, Nay; for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men; wherefore, if these things have ceased wo be unto the children of men, for it is because of unbelief, and all is vain.

We know that miracles alone do not produce faith. But we also know that miracles happen when people have faith. “Faith cometh not by signs, but signs follow those that believe” (D&C 63:9). Therefore, even though we must choose to exercise faith before we will experience miracles in our lives, we can view the miracles we do experience as evidence that we have faith. To put it more starkly, if we say, “Miracles don’t happen to me,” we are effectively saying, “I don’t have faith.”
Our Heavenly Father loves us and is eager to bless us. He has promised that if we will exercise faith in Jesus Christ, we will experience miracles. Because He is “the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Mormon 9:9), that promise will never change. The only variable in the equation is our willingness to believe.
Today, I will look for miracles in my life. I will remember that miracles always follow faith, and I will recognize the miracles I experience as evidence, not only that God loves me, but also that I have faith in Him.

    1. Thanks for the comment. Both Mormon and Moroni emphasize this principle several times at the end of the Book of Mormon: if we are exercising our faith, we will see miracles in our lives.
