Our Faith Becometh Unshaken – Jacob 4:6

6 Wherefore, we search the prophets, and we have many revelations and the spirit of prophecy; and having all these witnesses we obtain a hope, and our faith becometh unshaken, insomuch that we truly can command in the name of Jesus and the very trees obey us, or the mountains, or the waves of the sea.

In this passage, Jacob lists several things which strengthened the Nephites’ faith and describes the outcome:

  1. They searched the words of the prophets.
  2. They received personal revelation through the Spirit.
  3. Their faith grew until it could not be shaken.
  4. They were able to do miraculous things by the power of God.
This pattern holds true for us as well. The scriptures and the words of modern prophets can open our hearts to the messages the Lord wants us to receive individually through His Spirit. When the Spirit is with us, our faith grows, until we are able to perform miracles.
Today, I will remember this pattern as I study and ponder the scriptures. I will open my heart and my mind to the promptings of the Spirit, so that my faith can be strengthened,
