2 Nephi 9:16 They Who Are Righteous Shall Be Righteous Still

16 And assuredly, as the Lord liveth, for the Lord God hath spoken it, and it is his eternal word, which cannot pass away, that they who are righteous shall be righteous still, and they who are filthy shall be filthy still…

14 And then cometh the judgment of the Holy One upon them; and then cometh the time that he that is filthy shall be filthy still; and he that is righteous shall be righteous still; he that is happy shall be happy still; and he that is unhappy shall be unhappy still.
The Final Judgment is not so much a time of receiving external feedback as it is a time of acknowledging to ourselves and to others what we have become.  The choices we make every day lead us to that ultimate outcome.  Therefore, we can and should ask ourselves today: “Am I righteous?”  “Am I happy?”
We won’t become perfect all at once, but we know that an object in motion tends to remain in motion.  We also know that the same spirit which possesses our body at the end of our mortal life will possess our body in the eternal world (Alma 34:34). Therefore, what we choose to do today matters.  With the help of God, we can be more righteous today than we were yesterday and happier today than we were yesterday.  We have the power to set that trajectory minute by minute and hour by hour.
Today, I will remember that my eternity is a sequence of nows.  I will live with a recognition that my choices and attitude today are the best indication I have of my choices and attitude in the future. I will do my best to be righteous and happy today, because I want to be righteous and happy forever.
